Pre-ordered mine when it was announced (May) after loving but having some small issues with the Wizard that this fixed. First off I the wireless dongle adaptor is fantastic, love the versitility- it flashing all the time when plugged in and looking for a controller is a tad annoying but it makes sense- I still like how they include swappable stick gates and both CStick types- its got a heavier trigger than most modern controllers ive tried- kinda like a first gen Xbox Elite or a ps3 controller. So far my only real issue thats arose is the A button, after 4 months of casual and a few weeks of heavier use the A button is noticeably mushier than the BXYs which still feel and sound as clicky as the day it arrived, it doesnt prevent inputs but for something using optical sensors for milisecond responsiveness it can have an impact (Thankfully im not a comp player so its just mostly annoying) Dont know if this is a common wear issue or not but beyond the kinda odd dpad thats my only complaint
If you are a looking for a 1 to 1 gamecube experience, then this is not for you. The controller is good and responsive but has differences like: clicky switch buttons+bumpers+dpad, back buttons & a slightly different shape. The right stick feels a bit far from the buttons but that's only a minor thing that doesn't bother me that much & might just be me adjusting to the layout.
I was a bit skeptical at first as i used to own a wave bird back in the day. After doing much needed research through (youtube) i settled on the Nyxi gamecube controller. It was easy to set up and use. Honestly it feels good, not cheaply made, love the clicky sounds of the buttons that take me back. I've been playing with it for about a month now and is satisfied with it. While a bit pricey i urge you to try it for yourself! Definitely may purchase a second one for my guest in the near future.
This Controller is really good. For slightly less than a normal switch pro controller you get your bang for your buck. The adjustable triggers are nice and the mechanical clicky buttons feel so nice and responsive. The motion felt a bit high but after turning down my in game motion sensitivity a bit it felt nice. I did have some issues with the sticks at first but doing a recalibration of them and turning the controller off and back on fixed them and it is amazing. The joy stick pads and swappable joy sticks are a nice touch and I love the inclusion of the c stick to really get that retro like feel. I'd recommend in future in the joy stick pad and joy stick addon set should include a grey c stick just for customization. Having mappable back buttons and a turbo feature are so nice. Only issue with the turbo is sometimes it make the controller vibrate when doing actions in game that normally wouldn't make it vibrate. This controller is really worth it
This controller is now very easily my second favorite controller I own. I use it all the time. I originally bought it to use with the thousand-year door remake on switch. But it has quickly become more than that. I find it both entertaining and fun to see what games I can play with the GameCube button layout. So far I've only had one oddity happen. It was when the the Left stick started acting a little wonky but simply turning off and on the controller fixed it. My only other concern is with the longevity of both the battery and the micro switch buttons. I'm worried that many years from now the battery may kick the bucket and I'm not sure if it's replaceable. As for the switches I love how tactile the buttons feel my only concern is whether they will last as long as regular controller buttons. I want to make it clear though that me saying this should not dissuade you from buying this controller. If any of this actually happens I would gladly buy this controller again.
I preordered this almost as soon as I saw it had GameCube and Wii support. I received them and I love them already.. They have a good weight to them. I was disappointed by Nintendo's wired GameCube controller as it was very light. There's no problem here. Build quality is great, and it came in a very nice box. it looked like something you'd find at a gaming store. I'm not a pro at any video games but I'll enjoy playing DoubleDash and all the Smash bros with these.
The build quality is excellent but the buttons are very loud and clicky. I prefer quieter softer buttons and it doesn't seem as though there's an option to adjust that via swappable parts or otherwise.
The amount of customization, the option for wireless play, variety of compatible systema, and a d-pad that isn't designed for ants are good reasons to buy it alone. However, the face buttons and d-pad feel like clicking a mouse, which is satisfying to me, but not everyone's preference for a controller. And the triggers not having the full range and clicking of the original gamecube controller, though understandable as very few games used them, is disappointing. Overall, it's a good gamecube controller, with a few blemishes.
